brunch and being sick

There is a whole new level of awesomeness to being sick while taking care of a baby . . . who then also gets sick. I came home from class a week ago Thursday and within in an hour was knocked out by a fever and sore throat. After putting Lucille down for a nap, I crawled into bed and stayed there until Nate got home to take care of me. :) By Friday afternoon, Lucille was burning up, and her high fever not only freaked me out, but also reminded me I have no idea what I’m doing as a mom sometimes (!). Thank goodness for on-call doctors and Baby Tylenol. Also for adult Tylenol.

It was a whole new level of being wiped out – and selflessness. Caring for another little person over caring for yourself. But on a positive note, when we were (mostly) feeling better, we had the chance to catch up with some good friends . . . over eggs, hashbrowns, coffee cake, and a giant fruit bowl. :)
