It’s difficult to tell from these pictures, but another thing to love about Pasadena is the green. After spending three years in the desert (which I still do love), the green is a wonderful change. It’s more than just the green itself, however. I spend a lot of time walking in the town of Pasadena and it’s a common occurrence to happen upon a garden, small park, or cozy sitting area in the middle of the city. Most often they’re discreet, tucked between buildings and not visible from busy streets. It’s always surprising and pleasant when I discover an area such as this. They are usually devoid of people and noise, and make a great place to sit and read a bit.
